# Inspections and insurance evidence

> Interpret provider conclusions, extraction coverage, grades, and insurance-event query metadata.

## Inspection summary

```bash theme={"system"}
curl --fail-with-body "https://api.xapichina.com/v1/cars/59967821/inspection?lang=en" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $XAPICHINA_API_KEY"
```

The default `view=summary` returns provider conclusions, category counts, grades, dates, report links, and coverage. Supported sources include CARtech, Chaboshi, and supported Che168 reports.

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `available` | An inspection or vehicle-condition report is advertised |
| `data_available` | Supported findings were extracted |
| `parse_status` | `not_available`, `parsed`, `partial`, `unsupported`, or `unavailable` |
| `report_provider` | Source provider, when identified |
| `conclusions` | Provider-specific classifications and original source fields |
| `categories` | Native category totals and extraction coverage |
| `grade` | Original provider grade and source meaning |
| `history_queries` | Maintenance or insurance-event lookup metadata |

<Note>
  An advertised report does not guarantee parsed data or a clean vehicle. A partial report can contain useful findings while still missing information.
</Note>

## Full findings

```bash theme={"system"}
curl --fail-with-body "https://api.xapichina.com/v1/cars/59967821/inspection?view=full&lang=en" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $XAPICHINA_API_KEY"
```

The full response adds component-level `items` to the provider categories, including normal, abnormal, unknown, absent, and uninspectable statuses, remarks, and original wording. Source grades and classifications vary between providers; do not treat them as a universal rating scale.

`derived` clearly separates API-calculated observations from provider conclusions. Compatibility fields such as `had_simple_repair`, `damage_severity`, and `panel_damage` are deprecated; prefer native categories and `derived`.

Physical-inspection accident, flood, and fire classifications describe the inspected vehicle. They are not proof of the absence of past insurance claims.

## Insurance-event evidence

```bash theme={"system"}
curl --fail-with-body "https://api.xapichina.com/v1/cars/59967821/insurance?lang=en" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $XAPICHINA_API_KEY"
```

Structured insurance claim history is currently unavailable, so this response's `available` is `false`. It can still return:

* `vehicle_report_advertised`: whether a separate vehicle report is advertised.
* `query_evidence`: insurance-event lookup dates, notices, and receipt links from supported reports.
* Source-provided ownership or usage context, when available.

A query result of `no_records_returned` does not establish a clean history. Preserve `unknown` and `null` values rather than turning missing data into a negative finding.

Report links may expire or require access from the report provider. Retain the listing's `source_url` and the report's original labels for traceability.
